The problem

Aimigo is an AI-powered language coach. The product had to make a conversational AI feel like a friendly tutor, not a chatbot — and had to do that across three sister platforms (Aimigo consumer app, MOTIV motivation tool, AIMIGO Coach for educators) without each one feeling like a different company.

What I did

As the independent designer on the team, I led the app's design and collaborated closely with our freelance illustrator, Aimi, to ensure the experience stayed intuitive and warm.

  • End-to-end onboarding flow for a "I want to learn X language" first session.
  • Conversational UX — turn-taking with the AI tutor, recovery from misunderstanding, voice + text inputs.
  • Lesson architecture and progress system across difficulty tiers.
  • Shared design language across the three platforms so engineering could reuse 70%+ of components.
  • Pixel-perfect Figma library and dev hand-off.

The outcome

Three connected products with a shared design language, shipped to mobile and web. Many of the Figma source files remain confidential — happy to walk through them on a call.
